Below is the Temple Beth Emeth Library ( Ann Arbor) mission statement:

LIBRARY Mission Statement

The mission of the Temple Beth Emeth Library is to provide resources not
readily available in area secular libraries for the study of Judaism in
support of the needs of our Religious and Hebrew schools, adult education
programs, clergy, staff, and the congregational community. The Library
works in conjunction with the TBE Religious School to foster the development
of Jewish values and encourages personal and family observance of Jewish
rituals and celebrations. The Library strives to provide a variety of print
and multi-media materials that will help our members learn about and enhance
their experience of Jewish life. The library is available for congregants,
students, teachers, clergy, and staff members to read, browse, relax,
question, learn, and explore resources with the assistance of a librarian or
on their own.

Subject: [ha-Safran] Sample Copy Small Reform Library Mission
StatementNeeded

Dear Synagogue Librarians:

I would like to see a sample of a library mission statement for a 2,500
volume library for a Reform synagogue. The Temple Beth David Library in
Westminster California has never had one. I assumed we did. I may have
written one in 1994 for another Reform synagogue library but I do not
remember what I did.

Sincerely Michelle Sandler MLS

Volunteer Librarian Temple Beth David

Westminster, California
