Thank you for stopping by the library today! In regard to your inquiry about a possible documentary film focusing on the Nazi destruction of Jewish literature in libraries in the years preceding, and during, WWII, after intensive searching, Adult Services Librarian, Wendy Mutch, and myself, were unable to locate a specific DVD. There are many films focusing on the Nazi pillage of art, including The Monuments Men, Rape of Europa, and the soon to be acquired, Hitler's Museum: The Secret History of Art Theft During World War II, yet none that we could locate focusing on the destruction of literature in particular. However, we did discover an interesting documentary called The Great Book Robbery, focusing on 70,000 Palestinian books that were systematically "collected" by the newly created State of Israel during the 1948 war. At this time, The Great Book Robbery DVD is not available in The Library Network.
