Hello, MY synagogue is planning a remodeling project which includes the library and I have been asked to submit a "wish list" to the architecht. We have just under 7,000 volumes and our primary users are the children in the religious school (weekly visits and programming) and a core group of older readers, including members of the two book clubs the library sponsors.
I'd like to be able to back up my requests with some firm information on what constitutes good design for a synagogue library. Are there any websites you can suggest or AJL pamphlets that would be helpful? Any suggestions from your own personal experience? Thanks in advance for any information, help, insight, advice you can offer. Paula Fine, Librarian Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid 6880 N.
