La cultura judía argentina a través de sus editores, libreros, traductores, imprentas y bibliotecas* (*A history of the Jewish book. The Argentine Jewish culture through its publishers, booksellers, translators, printers and libraries*), by Editorial Siglo XXI, Buenos Aires. Summary Through an approach that combines different levels and strategies of analysis, the book explores from a sociological perspective the ways in which Buenos Aires took part of the wider transnational Jewish geography of book production and circulation between 1919 and 1974. It analyzes the differences between the Yiddish and Spanish cultural worlds, the role of translation in the creation of a Jewish culture in Spanish language, the direct and indirect effects of the Holocaust and the creation of the State of Israel, as well as the national political and cultural events, on the course of book publishing and circulation.
