Hi Amy:

If I understand you, you're asking whether you should classify Watchmen as
English language lit ('twould be a PS in LC classification) or whether to
stuff into the graphic novel ghetto (PN). It's a question a lot of us have
asked ourselves over the years. Comics just ain't the trash they used to
be.

In my library, I always stick these things in in PN ; past practice
dictates and there are only so many hours in any given day.

However, this may be the first for your collection. I recommend making an
Executive Decision weighing the merits of both approaches, and then
recording it so that the next time an issue like this pops up, you can
treat the matter in the same manner.

For my money, I like having my graphic novels separate from my lit, but not
in an entirely different neighborhood; both categories go in my living
room. The more offensive and questionable material, to include my Bible
collection (bow before me, mortal, for I and I alone own The Reader's
Digest Bible (and tell people about it)) are stashed in the bedroom.

Cheers

Bob

We're happy as fish,
as gorgeous as geese,
and wonderfully clean in the morning.
