Hello,
I have the 1972 second edition of Encyclopedia Judaica on CD-ROM, dating from
ca. 1997. It won't work on Windows versions later than XP, but I have a
virtual XP machine running under Windows 7. What I don't have is a parallel
port to which to attach the "Hasp-3" interlock "dongle" so EJ will run.

A commenter on an Amazon review said that installing a parallel port accessory
card didn't work. I don't know how the Hasp operates or whether there is more
than one way to configure such a card to emulate a parallel port. There are
parallel port to USB adapters available, but haven't seen a claim that one
would work for this purpose. It appears the last relevant discussion on
Ha-Safran was in 2005, and didn't discuss the Hasp interlock -- back then,
computers had parallel ports. Has anyone found a way around this problem?
