Dear Colleagues

Does anyone in the US know about holdings of so-called “heirless”
music-related materials (e.g., books, manuscripts, and perhaps other
materials) distributed after WWII through the Jewish Cultural
Reconstruction, Inc. (JCR) as trustee for the heirless owners? These
materials may have a circular stamp affixed to them that reads: “Offenbach
Archival Depot,” which was the U.S.-run depot in Germany that processed
these materials (looted and displaced), after WWII. There may be other
stamps affixed to these materials both during and after the war, which
might shed some light on their provenance.

The researcher seeking this information believes that LOC received
substantial materials in this manner, but is not sure if any music-related
materials are involved. Did any NYC area libraries receive any of these
materials?

Please contact me if you have any information regarding this query.

Thank you.
