I’m writing to let you know that applications are now open for Great Jewish Books: http://www.yiddishbookcenter.org/apply-great-jewish-books
Please spread the word among your friends, schools, synagogues, youth groups, and communities! This year’s program will run from August 2-9, 2015. Applications are due April 1st. I know some of you had students who applied and didn't get in. Definitely encourage your students to apply again, I know that the program has accepted kids who applied twice! Great Jewish Books continues to engage rising high school juniors and seniors in a week-long exploration of modern Jewish literature each summer. The program brings together an exceptional and diverse group of students, with renowned faculty and writers, and the result is a week of grappling with big questions, unpacking big ideas, and making new friends. If you have questions about the program, you can contact Lesley Yalen at the Yiddish Book Center, [email protected]. Also, I was an RA for the program last year, so I can give some insight as well, but I am not involved with the program this year now that my fellowship is over. Happy Monday, Danielle Winter
