Dear Safranim,

Put the tablet away. Hide that laptop. And stuff that cell phone in a
sleeping bag.
Give your community the gift of unplugging. *Sign up to become a community
partner* and encourage individuals to unplug for 24 hours (or for as long
as they can!)

*How can your community unplug?*

   - Have an unplugged event in your library.
   - Create a space to drink tea, play board games, craft, play guitar and
   converse.
   - *Ask your community to take the unplug pledge.*
   - *Take I UNPLUG TO ______ photos* leading up to the National Day of
Unplugging and feature them on your *Facebook* and *Twitter* pages. (Ah,
   the irony!)

Need more ideas? *Download the DIY toolkit* to create an event for your
community and download our *unplug kit for kids, parents, teachers and
other people*. It's chock-filled with ideas for programs, marketing and an
all around good time.

The National Day of Unplugging is a 24 hour period – running from sundown
to sundown – and starts on the first Friday in March. The project is an
outgrowth of The Sabbath Manifesto <http://sabbathmanifesto.org/>, an
adaption of our ancestors’ ritual of carving out one day per week to
unwind, unplug, relax, reflect, get outdoors, and connect with loved ones.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email me!

Best,
