My name is Ollie Elkus. I'm a college-aged student of Jewish and Yiddish
Studies. I was accepted to Hampshire College (home of the Yiddish Book
Center), where I would study Yiddish language and eventually contribute to
the cause of translating Yiddish literature into English. The trouble is, I
can't afford to go. I was wondering if you might know of some scholarships
or grants offered to students, such as myself, that are dedicated to this
cause. In the interest of brevity, I haven't attempted an explanation of my
background or interest in Yiddish, but if it would please an interested
party, I'd be happy to tell the whole story from Aleph to Tzadik. I hope to
hear from someone soon!
