JUDAICA LIBRARY - FOR DISPOSAL AS A WHOLE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Below is presented a possible VERY VALUABLE OPPORTUNITY

for a Jewish Community, an Organisation or an Institution

interested in acquiring a ready made Judaica Library.

It would be much appreciated if any recipient of this email would pass it on to
any such that could possibly benefit from it

____________________________________________________________

AVAILABLE FOR POSSIBLE DISPOSAL AS A WHOLE

                        ( i.e as a COMPLETE COLLECTION )

                                             is the following

                              COLLECTION OF BOOKS / LIBRARY

of JEWISH and LAND OF ISRAEL INTEREST
   ____________________________________________________________

The owner wishes to sell the collection as a whole ( i.e. as a single unit )
and not to break it up
into individual constituent items since the library as a whole develops themes
, illustrates
historical movements and processes and provides a totality of coverage that
would be lost
if the library was to be broken up. ( as would also be the very considerable
time , effort and
expertise involved in forming such a library )

It is relevant to point to the amount of time and money that has to be
expended just in
acquiring the knowledge base and expertise to be able to form such a collection
 as well as
the time and expense ( over above the direct acquisition costs per item ) that
has to be
spent in actually physically acquiring such a collection on an item by item
basis .

This very comprehensive collection includes the following subject matter:

(1) Jewish Religion and Philosophy

(2) Jewish Culture and Civilisation

(3) Jewish History ( Diaspora and Land of Israel )

(4) Biographies and autobiographies of outstanding Jewish personalities
( religious and secular ) throughout the ages

( 5) Jewish Literature

(6) Various and Sundry topics of Jewish Interest

The Library has taken decades to form and contains many scarce , rare and
difficult to find works.

This is a most valuable opportunity for an institution , community or private
individual to obtain a
ready made library of great merit in one go without the very considerable
expenditure of time and
effort involved in building up such a Library from scratch.

LIBRARY CATALOGUE
---------------------------------
The library has been catalogued in acquisition sequence
( i.e.not by subject matter / category ) and
copies of this catalogue are available on request to serious enquirers.

The catalogue is partly typewritten but mainly in manuscript and , for each
item , starts with the author name which is followed by the book title
which is followed by publication place and date details

______________________________________________________________

ARRANGEMENT AND SHELVING OF THESE BOOKS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The books are currently arranged and shelved by category / subject matter and
could be packed and shipped accordingly

_______________________________________________________________

NUMBER OF VOLUMES IN THE COLLECTION
-------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) The sequential catalogue starts at number (1) and has currently reached
number ( 956 )
The actual number of volumes would be greater since a cataloguing unit might
not just include one book but could include a two volume or multivolume set
There might have been a possible shrinkage loss of circa five to ten books over
the years but it is thought that shrinkage would not exceed this number

(2) A recent physical count has come up with a total of 995 volumes
( see breakdown below ). This includes all volumes in sets

(3) These totals could possibly increase in the future as the owner is
ongoingly adding books to the library as and when desirable items are spotted
on the market

(4) The physical count breaks down approximately as follows:

       Encyclopaedia:11
Jewish Religion, Philosophy , Civilisation and Culture :230
      Jewish Legends and Folklore: 12
Jewish History: General , Ancient and Medieval :44
Jewish Diaspora Communities: histories of, etc ( worldwide ) : 152
      Jewish Military Service 1914-8: 7
Holocaust and Jewish Resistance 1939-45: 53
Zionism and Zionist Movements : 19
      Palestine / Land of Israel : 4
Palestine ( British Mandate Period ) and the
Foundation of the State of Israel: 58 :
Aliyah and Rescue of Diaspora Communities into Israel : 10
The State of Israel 1948 onwards: history and general :64
Biographies and Autobiographies of eminent Jews: 101
Histories of Jewish Literature (in English, Yiddish and Hebrew ) : 15
      Large Lexicons and Dictionaries ( Chaldean,Hebrew, Yiddish ) : 9
Yiddish and Hebrew Books of the period circa 1895-1915 : 12
Sundry topics : - large size books :64
                                 - normal size books : 32
Duplicates of the abovelisted : 31
Jewish Fiction : Anthologies and single Novels :24
     Late additions ( uncategorised ) : 43

(5) Of the total , a small amount ( probably less than 50 ) might be retained
by the owner
      This is negotiable
