Dear Colleagues and Friends: I am writing in early summer to ask for help in finding a first grade co-teacher and a p/t Hebrew language teacher for the 2015-16 school year. In our school, a co-teacher works collaboratively with a partner in the same classroom throughout the day. The co-teacher must have relative fluency in Hebrew. A Hebrew language teacher is a specialist who teaches across different grades, sometimes in collaboration and sometimes on his/her own. For both positions, I am interested in someone with some classroom experience. For those of you not familiar with Schechter Manhattan’s teaching model I offer details here: Classroom teachers, K-5, work in co-teaching teams throughout the day and, together, are responsible for teaching BOTH Jewish and General Studies, and establishing and maintaining the culture of the classroom. As Hebrew is a core part of our school culture, both teachers need to be relatively fluent in Hebrew. Schechter Manhattan is a K-8 student-centered day school with a constructivist educational approach, a commitment to differentiation, an emphasis on *menschlichkeit* and personal development, and a strong culture of faculty reflection, collaboration, creativity and professional growth. If you know a friend or relative looking for a teaching job, or, if you are a colleague and have resumes to share, I would appreciate you letting let me know. Also, *it would be helpful to me if you could share this with others through your own social media networks.* Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Many thanks.
