Safranim: My family is looking for a home for the personal Yiddish library that belonged to the late Gerald Stillman, a Yiddish translator, historical writer and editor. I am his son, Joshua Stillman, a Professor at Columbia University (in the sciences). The collection is about 500 titles, with a fair sampling of Yiddish literature, literary criticism, and history.
We would like books in this Yiddish Collection to continue to be of use. Ideally, we would donate it to an institution looking to build its Yiddish collection, and that might create a “nook” that would keep it intact. A second possibility will be to break it up and send portions of it to institutions in need of selected parts.
