All,

Forwarding this announcement - an MA in Jewish Studies is quite useful for
someone with an MLIS looking to transition into academic librarianship.

Columbia University’s M.A. Program in Jewish Studies will soon be accepting
applications for the Spring 2016 semester. This one- to two-year program
allows students at any stage of their careers an unparalleled opportunity
to deepen their Jewish knowledge. In addition to learning from some of the
country’s leading scholars of Jewish Studies, students can take advantage
of the rich educational programs of Columbia’s Institute for Israel and
Jewish Studies, and the many opportunities for Jewish learning and living
in New York City. The M.A. program is especially designed for students who
are interested in careers in the Jewish world, including writers, teachers,
librarians and administrators.

The deadline for applications for the Spring 2016 semester is November 3,
and the deadline for Fall 2016 will be in March of next year. If you are
interested in learning more, please contact Adam Kirsch at
