For the children’s librarians out there— There is an international conference of the IBBY group from October 16 – 18 in lower Manhattan with fabulous speakers such as Kate DiCamillo, David Almond, Susan Cooper, Leonard Marcus, Gene Luen Lang, Roger Mello, and others, including Lois Lowry, who is a nominee for the Hans Christion Andersen Medal. I was supposed to go and paid for it (including meals) and cannot go. If you are interested, let me know because I can’t get my money back and would like to give away my registration to someone who works in the field of secular children’s literature.
