Doing a search on our catalog I came up with these titles of interest:

1. Maribeth Boelts, and Noah Jones.

Those shoes. Cambridge, MA : Candlewick Press, 2009, c2007.

Jeremy, who longs to have the black high tops that everyone at school seems to
have but his grandmother cannot afford, is excited when he sees them for sale
in a thrift shop and decides to buy them even though they are the wrong size.

2. Lois Brandt, and Vinicius Vogel.

Maddi's fridge -- Brooklyn, NY : Flashlight Press, 2014.

Maddi's fridge is almost empty, while Sophia's fridge is full of food. How can
Sophia help her friend Maddi without breaking her promise not to tell anyone?

3. DyAnne DiSalvo-Ryan.

Uncle Willie and the soup kitchen -- N.Y : Morrow Junior Books, 1991.

A boy spends the day with Uncle Willie in the soup kitchen preparing food for
the hungry.

4. Michael J Rosen.

The Greatest table -- a banquet to fight against hunger / Michael J Rosen. --
San Diego, CA : Harcourt, Brace & Co, 1994.

Collection of remarkable art by 16 children's book illustrators inspired by a
poem of grace and thanksgiving.

5. Dale Gottlieb.

With the help of his friends--and one large discarded box--Joey turns his love

Subject: [ha-Safran] Feeding the hungry

Our religious school theme next Sunday is ma'achil r'eivim, the mitzvah of
feeding the hungry. Does anyone have some suggestions for children's books
about that?

I have "Its a...its a Mitzvah" but that's all so far. Thank you in advance for
any ideas!
