I'm delighted to report that "Di goldene kale" ("The Golden Bride"), Joseph 
Rumshinsky's 1923 Yiddish operetta, which opened in New York on Wednesday, is 
receiving a rave review in this weekend's New York Times, now available with 
video excerpts at

Last revived in 1948, it will also be the first American Yiddish musical 
theater work (out of many thousands produced) to be published---by A-R Editions 
for the American Musicological Society's series "Music of the United States of
