Dear Hasafranim,
For those using Elazar, I have a question regarding the new sub-genre of
ex-ultra-Orthodox memoirs popping up. While I certainly don't have the space or
money to order all of them, I do have about 3 now and I wonder if they should
be set apart in some way on the shelf. I've been putting them in American bio
-- 799.77, but could they perhaps go in the 600s (sociology) somewhere? Some I
see have placed them in a subdivision of 213 or 214 (Hasidism or Orthodoxy),
but I'm not sure that makes sense, since the move away from ultra-Orthodoxy
encompasses so much more than religious affiliation. But perhaps that is the
best place. Help! Rachel Haus Library Director Congregation of Moses Library
