Heidi
We have been holding live discussions at 9pm eastern on a Sunday
night. Is this a bad time?
...I was just going to say. That's 3a.m. around this popsicle stand. I
can only stay awake until ~2a.m. and then I am a gonner.
Should we hold discussions by email or in some other way that doesnt
require showing up at a particular time?
Hmmmm. That sounds fun but sounds a little bit more like a book report
and a little less like a fun discussion over coffee and cakes. Remember
the movie the /Jane Austen Book Club? /They met at a different person's
house each month to talk about one of Austen's books.
We considered methods like Google Hangouts or Facebook but wanted to
avoid making participants sign into anything. What technique do YOU
prefer for having a long distance book discussion?
Personally, I like talking on SKYPE or Web-Ex or UStream or whatever
electronic group get-together thing there is out there where we can all
see each other. I give an Intro al Judaísmo class every Tuesday evening
to a group of persons located all over Spain; it seems to work pretty well.
Even though I was asleep whenever you guys met, I bought each of the
books off of Amazon (in spanish when possible for the sake of the La
Javurá library) and read them. I think I might prefer to talk a mix of
adult, kiddie and/or young adult lit. But I'm not really bothered one
way or another. If you guyz could come on at 6-7p.m. that way I wouldn't
be sleeping like a dormouse in the teapot.
