I am deeply saddened to announce that Temple Beth Am's Founding Rabbi Emeritus Herbert M. Baumgard passed away last month. He was a renowned author, scholar, teacher, lecturer, idealist, and fervent civil rights activist. The collection of books in his office is massive, and his family is planning to make a generous donation to the organization or institution that will accept the total collection and establish a memorial library in his name.
