LC is planning a program on the Judische Kulturbund Project on Nov. 10, 2016.  
The details are being worked out. The flyer and information will be posted once 
everything is finalized. We are planning an audio-visual presentation including 
a live performance of songs from the Kulturbund.  For the director and others 
involved, it's a labor of love. They are passionate about the project.  Just

The Jüdische Kulturbund Project

The Jüdische Kulturbund Project is producing a multimedia play and other 
initiatives that tell the story of Jewish musicians and performing artists who 
organized in 1933 Nazi Germany and performed until the Final Solution in 1941.  
Featuring stories based on filmed interviews with members of this unique group 
and contemporary artists living around the world, the project explores stories 
of heroic stands for artistic freedom and response to unjust control and

Summary of Project Efforts
In Development

 *   Multimedia Play: "Playing for Life: Art Under Tyranny" (Status:  First 
draft script)
 *   Dramatic Feature Film : "Life or Theater".  A period film set in 1930 
Berlin telling the story of the Jüdische Kulturbund. (Status:  Treatment in 
development)

Scheduled Programs

 *   Multimedia Presentation: Library of Congress with special performance by 
Sarah Baumgarten (vocals) and Patrick O'Donnell (piano).  November 10, 2016.
 *   Education Workshop: Jewish Museum of Maryland, Baltimore. August 3, 2016.
 *   Keynote Speaker at Conference for Freedom of Expression and Culture in 
Karlstad, Sweden.  Sponsored by Region Farmland.  September 8, 2016.

Building our Audience
While the JK Project continues developing the multimedia play and dramatic 
feature film, we will present public speaking and education programs.  We will 
also engage audiences through marketing campaigns and efforts such as...

·         Producing a coffee-table book-will collaborate with David Bruce Smith 
to publish the book.

·         Producing/curating a group exhibition of visual artists.

·         Producing a compilation music album.

·         Producing a one-week multimedia. interdisciplinary program for 
musicians, performing artists, and visual artists with discussion.
