Hi AJL-ers.
Last year AJL had a virtual book club called AJL READS. Every few months we had a conference call to discuss a Jewish novel or memoir. These calls attracted just a handful of people each time, but they enjoyed it. In June at the AJL Conference in Charleston we had a live discussion of a librarianship nonfiction title. We got a good crowd and had a lively discussion. The goal of AJL READS was to find a way for AJL members to connect and network outside of conference time. So my question for you is: would you like to continue the virtual book club? Would you prefer librarianship books over fiction? Would you prefer a discussion via Hasafran/Facebook that you can participate in on your own schedule or a conference call scheduled at a specific time? Please let me know your thoughts. If there is continuing interest, I will start planning for a new year of AJL READS! Thanks, Heidi Heidi Rabinowitz AJL Member Relations Chair he...@cbiboca.org
