Wigger, J. Bradley. Thank You, God. Illus. by Jago. Grand Rapids, MI:
Eerdmans, 2014. 32 pp. $16.00.

(9780802854247). Preschool-Gr. 2.

A stunningly beautiful book of gratitude for all that God has made and given
to us. Simple

language leads the reader through thanking God for the sun and the stars,
family and friends, for

food, for learning, for everything outside, for rain, for animals, and moon
and stars. The accompanying

illustrations by Jago (Nachshon, Who was Afraid to Swim and Oh No, Jonah)
are rich and beautiful,

perfectly complementing lines such as "Thank You God for all that breathes /
bees and beetles /and

beluga whales, / birds and baboons / and bats in the breeze." This is
accompanied by a magnificent

illustration of all these animals pictured in what looks to be a display
case. Yes, this book is published

by a Christian publishing house. Yes, the book is dedicated to the children
of a Presbyterian church.

Neither of these factors should stop any library from adding this book to
its collection. This is ultimately

just a simple prayer, with outstanding illustrations that can be read to a
group of young children to

explain how to be grateful for all we have.

Subject: [ha-Safran] picture book: Thank You, God

Has anybody seen the picture book Thank You, God by J. Bradley Wigger,
illustrated by Jago, published by Eerdmans in 2014? I'd like to know if
there's anything in it that makes in inappropriate for a Jewish library.
Please email me at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> if you can
give me any feedback about this book.

Thanks
