Hello, everyone. Some of you on Hasafran may know that the Kaufman Center commissioned a family musical based on Shlemiel Crooks, a Sydney Taylor Honor Book, which premiered at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City in 2011.
The Kaufman Center will again be presenting the musical on Sunday, March 25. Those of you in the NYC area are especially invited to attend: Sunday, March 25 Kaufman Music Center presents "Shlemiel Crooks—A Musical." A boy and his dog stop the ghost of Pharaoh from ruining Passover in this family musical based on the children's book Shlemiel Crooks and the short story "Chicken Bone Man" by AJL member Anna Olswanger. Narrated by Jerry, the family dog, and featuring a couple of dimwitted crooks named Burt and Ernie, this warm-hearted musical is about the importance of family loyalty and the need to follow your dreams: 11:00 a.m., $20.
