Comment: I am a librarian at Wofford College, in South Carolina. I am
working on a research question from a professor. He wants to know which
sacred Jewish text, if any, speaks of how a house, or institution, that
takes generations to build can be destroyed in a relatively very short
time. I asked the professor whether he came across this metaphor in
relation to the destruction of the First Temple (in 586 BCE) or that of
the Second Temple (70 CE). But he cannot remember. I greatly appreciate
your help with this.
