*DIRECTOR, TUTTLEMAN LIBRARY AT GRATZ COLLEGE*


Gratz College, located in Melrose Park, PA, is seeking a Director of the
Tuttleman Library, an academic research library reflecting the College’s
multifaceted courses of study and research collections. With roots serving
the Jewish community of Greater Philadelphia, Gratz College today focuses
on a diverse array of primarily graduate credit and non-credit courses,
offered in an online or low residency format.  Among its programs, the
College offers an M.A.Ed. in Education, an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership,
an M.A. in Interfaith Leadership, an M.A. in Jewish Studies, an M.S. in
Camp Administration, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Holocaust and Genocide
Studies.



The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Library Science or equivalent
from an A.L.A. accredited institution with a minimum of four years of work
experience in an academic library. Strong research and digital literacy
skills are essential, as is the ability to work closely with students and
faculty in an online environment. Previous familiarity with Jewish Studies
or Hebrew Language would be useful, as is an additional advanced degree(s)
in an academic discipline.



The Director will work closely with the academic dean, program directors,
faculty, and students in all of the programs offered online or
face-to-face. The Tuttleman Library has an extensive collection of Judaica
and Hebraica of considerable scholarly significance, which the Director
will be charged with maintaining along with its other collections and
online resources serving all the college programs.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Overseeing the daily operation of the library and its use by on-site
faculty, staff, visitors, and volunteers

Serving the research needs of students in online, low residency, and
face-to-face programs

Assisting with developing and managing the library budget

Managing the acquisition process, original and copy cataloging,
interlibrary loan, and other appropriate library functions on a regular
basis

Working closely with the dean and program directors to insure adequate
online resources are available to graduate students

Understanding the specific research needs and assisting with specific
requests from faculty and students for master’s and doctoral level projects

Providing service to affiliated or subordinate entities, such as the Gratz
College Holocaust Oral History Archive



Additional Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with
colleagues

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate onsite residencies
and special events

High level of information literacy and digital literacy tools

Strong research skills at the graduate program level



Position Reports to:

The President of the College; the Librarian serves on the President’s
Executive Team
