At the Newcomers Welcome meeting at the AJL conference in LA, I shared this list of opportunities to get involved with the organization. Now I'm sharing them with all of you, because these are great opportunities for old timers too!
We are seeking a new volunteer editor-in-chief of AJL News & Reviews! (Laura Schutzman, [email protected]) Also, the children’s book review editors are seeking an assistant to help organize information in Google Docs. (Lisa Silverman, [email protected] ) AJL’s treasurer is seeking an assistant, and she is happy to train any interested person. (Holly Zimmerman, [email protected]) If you speak Spanish, you can contribute content or knowledge to AJL’s new Spanish webpage. (Amalia Levi, [email protected]) AJL is forming a committee to create an interactive map of institutions with Judaica collections (Amalia Levi, [email protected]) We need volunteers to work on the Jewish Values Finder database of children’s literature (Heather Lenson, [email protected]) Library Advocacy committee could use some help.
