Hello, catalogers, I have noticed that there are 2 geographic headings for Galicia: Galicia (Poland and Ukraine), and Galicia, Eastern (Ukraine). They both appear as authorized name headings in LC Authorities online. Can anyone tell me if one of them has now been superceded by the other? Or if they are both valid headings, what is the difference between them?
I also note that there is no cutter assigned for Galicia under DS 135, and I see books with those subject headings cuttered for either Poland or Ukraine. What do you recommend? I did see one book cuttered .G2, but that does not appear in the classification schedule.
