A friend of mine who grew up in Germany has reached out to me with the
following query:
“...I have had, for eighty some years, the first few bars of two songs
that a fine soprano sang on the High Holy Days in the Augsburg
synagogue, and I would dearly like to know how they continue, both
musically and textually.
“Ich weiss an wen ich glaube” and “Was ist der Mensch auf Erden.”
I wonder if any of you can help. Ideally, I think he’d love to have a
scan of the music (if such exists) otherwise, any leads on these Lieds
[I know, I just can’t help myself. And I know i’ve improperly
pluralized Lied] will be appreciated,
