Project Cataloger for Rare Hebraica, Yeshiva University Libraries (part-time; 
through June 2020)

Position Summary:  Perform original and copy cataloging tasks for rare books 
and materials in the Hebrew language. Use bibliographic utilities, such as 
OCLC, and authority records to compose accurate descriptive data. Input records 
into the cataloging module of Virtua, the libraries' integrated library system.

Position Responsibilities:   Perform original and copy cataloging of Hebrew 
materials under the supervision of a catalog librarian. Use bibliographic 
utilities and authority records to create accurate descriptive data.       
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Educational Background:  4 years of library experience preferred.  
 ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree.

Skills & Competencies:  Very good reading proficiency in Hebrew required. 
Knowledge of Rabbinical texts and ability to read Rashi script preferred.  Must 
be able to lift up to 20 lbs.  Accuracy and attention to detail.
