I believe many of you may be interested in what I received from a non-member, who is not a librarian, Janice Knoppers. I applaud her diligence to reach out to public libraries near her home. Due to the rising violent anti-Semitism in the United States I strongly feel that the way to confront hate and bias crimes is through education. I live in Palm Beach County, Florida and the anti-Semitic conspiracy theory DVD 'The Occupation of the American Mind' is available in the 14 branches of the Palm Beach County Library System. I filled out the 'Request for Purchase form' online and requested the purchase of the scholarly well documented pro-Israel DVD 'Body and Soul: The State of the Jewish Nation' and stated that there is an urgent need to purchase this DVD to help educate the public, to enhance tolerance and understanding and to combat anti-Semitism. I am happy to say that this DVD is now available in all 14 branches. To my surprise 117 public libraries throughout America have the same anti-Semitic DVD 'The Occupation of the American Mind' in their collection. I urge the members of the Association of Jewish Libraries to contact the Collections / Purchasing department of the main branch of their public library system and advise the importance of purchasing the DVD 'Body and Soul: The State of the Jewish Nation' and/or the DVD 'The Case for Israel: Democracy's Outpost' produced by DocEmet Productions. These DVDs are available through most of the Library Vendor Systems. If you wish to view it first, these DVDs can be viewed on Amazon Prime.
