The winners of this year's award are:

Goldie Goldbloom, *On Division. *Farrar, Straus and Giroux (winner)
Julie Orringer, *The Flight Portfolio. *Knopf (honor book)

Thanks to all the committee members (Rachel Kamin, Merrily Hart, Laura
Schutzman, and Sheryl Stahl) for all their reading and thoughtful
consideration of many books. We are hoping that both Goldbloom and Orringer
will be at the convention in Evanston in June where you can hear them speak
about their books. All the committee members will be at the conference and
there will be a panel presentation about recent and forthcoming adult
Jewish fiction. We also plan to hold a book discussion for *On Division*
during breakfast on Wednesday morning of the conference.

My term will end at the conference; Laura Schutzman is the incoming
chairperson.
