Thanks to all who have written to share their support. I'd also like to
give credit where credit is due. Thanks to Michelle Chesner, RAS President
and Sean Boyle, Chair of the AJL Advocacy Committee, who put this statement
together with help from Zachary Baker and Arthur Kiron. Their work was
quick and well done.

I hope this is the last such statement AJL has to make but I sadly know it
isn't. We as an organization will continue to advocate for our members and
community. I'll take this time to encourage those who read this list and
are not members to join so we can continue this work
<https://jewishlibraries.org/join_AJL>.

I look forward to seeing you all in Chicago in June
<https://jewishlibraries.org/Upcoming_Conference> to continue these
conversations in person. One topic I've been thinking about in the last few
days is can a library be a library without dedicated librarians?

Please continue to share this statement widely within your communities.
