Dear Colleagues,

This is my first time posting to the Hasafran listserv and I would be really grateful for any advice. I am trying to help a professor in our history department, Michael Maas, place his father's book collection in good hands. There are three categories of books: Jewish content, Nazi content, and general (mostly German literature). Prof. Maas wants to make sure that they do not fall into wrong hands. It would be best if the Jewish content books, at least, could be kept together. He was hoping that a Holocaust center library would be interested, but is open to all suggestions.

Please see a description of the collection and an incomplete list of contents in his message below.

You are welcome to contact Prof. Maas directly at [email protected], or you can write to me and I will forward the messages to him.

All best wishes and thanks again,

 Dear Anna,

Thanks very much for subscribing to the Hasafran listserv. My father's German books that we want to place in a university library fall into two several categories. First, those with explicitly Jewish content. Second, books with explicitly Nazi content. We want to make sure that these don't fall into the wrong hands. Third, general content. I don't want to unpack them all now, but there are a few, signed by him, that I may wish to keep. It's probably too much to ask, but if they could be kept together, at least the Jewish content ones, that would be most desirable. Please let me know if you ahve questions.

Here they are grouped, I hope accurately:

Dear Michael,

I have just subscribed to Hasafran, a listserv for Jewish studies
librarians. Before I send you query to them, can you please tell me
more about your father's book collection? Do you have a broad
description of the contents, or maybe a title list?

Best wishes,
