I was excited to see this announcement in Book Riot... *Israeli Librarians Win Wikipedia Contest*
The Wikipedia Library and the International Federation of Library Associations hold a biannual competition, One Librarian, One Reference aka #1Lib1Ref, which asks librarians around the world to create new Wikipedia pages and add references to update existing ones. Israeli librarians took first place for making 4,700 edits in three weeks <https://link.bookriot.com/click/19479652.54537/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYWxnZW1laW5lci5jb20vMjAyMC8wMi8xNy9pc3JhZWxpLWxpYnJhcmlhbnMtd2luLWdsb2JhbC13aWtpcGVkaWEtY29tcGV0aW9uLw/5a2f4097e9a8a2a2438b4f4eB15871835>. The awards aren’t based on the location of the librarians but rather the language. https://www.algemeiner.com/2020/02/17/israeli-librarians-win-global-wikipedia-competion/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Today%20in%20Books&utm_term=BookRiot_TodayInBooks_DormantSuppress Toby Harris
