As former Co-Chair (2005) and former Conference VP (2006-10), I echo all
the appreciation for our 2020 team. I know how many details there are, and
I'm truly disappointed that the decision had to be made. At the same time,
I applaud the early process.
A follow-up thought:
I know that conferences have gone virtual. I attended one this past
week that had several sessions and Plenaries online. I don't know what the
cost of streaming on Zoom or another platform would be. But I wonder
whether some sessions could be done that way, without breaking the bank.
Would people donate their Registration fees? What would it cost for those
who couldn't go to Chicago (I had another event close in time) but would
happily pay a fee to join online. Could AJL put on a University site --
Northwestern, e.g.?
