Dear Heidi, Mazel-tov on your upcoming retirement. You have been such a strong and very active member and supporter of AJL for over three decades. Your contributions, especially in your realms of expertise, notably cataloging and metadata, have been too numerous to begin to list. You have also been very helpful in AJL, at Stanford, and way beyond in providing answers outside of your "niche" as well by presenting timely and useful information on research, humanities, and social sciences reference inquiries among others. You were one of the first people I met at my very first AJL Conference (née Convention) back in 1991 in Miami Beach, and it was always a pleasure to see you each year at subsequent annual gatherings at which I always learned something unique and valuable from your presentations and just from casual conversations.
I hope that you will stay active in AJL where your many contributions have always benefited your colleagues and the Association immeasurably. I greatly appreciate having had the opportunity to work with you over the years and value your friendship as well as your collegiality.
