Our teacher and friend Dov Elkins has a new book, 'Bialik:
Israel's National Poet.' Speaking rabbi to rabbi (though speaking
ultimately only for myself), I find our unfamiliarity with Bialik
to be a regrettable gap in our seminary education. We all know
that he was the national poet of the rebirth of our people. We
all benefit from his co-authorship of Sefer HaAgadah. Yet for the
most part, we never actually studied anything about him.
