Shalom, I'm sorry to inform you that Dan Wyman's mother, Eva Goldschmidt Wyman, z"l (1934-2021) passed away on Saturday, August 8 in Bloomington, Illinois at age 87 after a long illness. Dan is an antiquarian jewish bookseller who has been an active supporter of AJL for many years.
Eva was the author of two books, including *ESCAPING HITLER: A JEWISH HAVEN IN CHILE* (U of Alabama, 2013). It was originally published in Spanish as "*Huyendo del infierno nazi: la inmigración judío-alemana hacia Chile en los años treinta*" (Santiago, 2008) and documents the flight of German-Jewish refugees, including that of herself and her parents, to Chile during the 1930s.
