Join author Laura Limonic, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the College of Old Westbury of the State University of New York, for this important discussion. This program is presented by the Long Island Library Resources Council, which is offering complimentary registration for AJL members. RAS Cataloging Forum: The LC classifications of BM vs. KBM Tuesday, November 23, 2021 9:30AM PT / 12:30PM ET / 7:30PM Israel Time Cataloging law and law related material can be challenging, even more so when the topics are marriage, divorce, and dinai mamanot (Jewish financial law). Does the cataloger classify Jewish marriage under BM713 or KBM546.13; would Jewish divorce be classed under BM713.5 or KBM562.3; would a book on Jewish financial law be classed under BM509.E27 or KBM639? What is the difference between BM and KBM? This forum, led by Aaron Kuperman, will help provide working knowledge of the two classes. This forum is sponsored by AJL’s RAS Cataloging Committee and all members are welcome. Members only.
