Shalom, Safranim and Friends! We’re thrilled to announce the 2023 Association
of Jewish Libraries Digital Conference: A World of Possibilities, to be held
June 19–22, 2023.
Following the tremendous success of our online conferences in 2020 and 2021,
the AJL Board and Council decided to hold an in-person conference every other
year and alternate with an online conference. After last year's wonderful
gathering in Philadelphia, the 2023 conference will be fully online.
The theme of the 2023 Digital Conference is A World of Possibilities, and the
conference will feature an array of presentations highlighting new ideas,
programs, and systems that emerged from the challenges and adaptation of
services in recent years.
Registration will be open shortly! The cost of attending the conference is $180
for AJL members, $40 for students, and $90 for retirees. The cost for non–AJL
members is $290. Registration includes all conference sessions and access to
the session videos.

Our conference will kick off with a keynote address on Monday, June 19. Also on
Monday, we'll welcome our newcomers and hold AJL divisional and general
membership meetings.
The annual Feinstein Lecture will be held on Thursday, June 22.
We received more than sixty presentation proposals on a wide range of topics
related to various aspects of librarianship, literature, Judaism, the Jewish
experience, and Israel that will be relevant to library professionals working
in academic and research institutions, archives, synagogues, day schools, and
Jewish community centers as well as public schools and libraries serving Jewish
communities. Acceptance letters will be going out in March.
Invitations have been extended to the award-winning authors of the AJL Jewish
Fiction Award, the Sydney Taylor Book Awards, and the Reference and
Bibliography Awards.
In the coming weeks and months, we will be sharing additional information about
session details, exhibitors, volunteer opportunities, and more. The 2023 AJL
conference promises to be innovative, exciting, and interesting—and a great way
to connect with your AJL friends and colleagues! We look forward to seeing you
online!
