Join Cantor Matt Austerklein for a timely dive into High Holidays with advice from the most colorful guidebook in early cantorial history. Sefer Teudat Shlomo (1718) was published by Rabbi Shlomo Lipschitz, who came from a rabbi-cantor family in Bavaria, and whose musical travels took him through Bohemia, Germany, and France. Cantor Austerklein will lead us through humorous and wisdom-filled excerpts from the book on preparation for the High Holidays, including going to the mikvah, musical training, singing style, and becoming a channel of compassion.
