About 80% of our 200 or so Etz Chaim chumashim were also in disrepair -- that particular chumash has a perfect storm of a problem, with a heavy text block and extra thin pages, causing the front and back pages to pull away from the binding with heavy use.? Though a few books had outer wear & tear on the spine requiring clear book tape, most of the repair required adhesive and hinge tape. I purchased the repair supplies, gave a brief tutorial on book repair to the 10 or so volunteers, and we knocked it out in a couple of relatively enjoyable hours. I tend to use Brodart?and the supplies I used were Filmoplast?white hinge tape?and acid free adhesive. Let me know if you have other questions.
