Dear Heidi- What does she mean By “culturally authentic and kind”? Does she mean not to mention there was a war and the cruelty of the Hellenistic Syrians? Nobody gets killed in the war? Sounds as if she wants to “sanitize” the story in her own way. She’s afraid the children will be traumatized? I would ask her exactly what she means. Does she know the story of Chanukah???
