Dear Safranim, There are many reasons to apply for or to renew accreditation for your school, synagogue, or Center library. AJL members have found that applying for accreditation:
- Encourages the librarian to review the library resources, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the collection, resources and programs, and plan for library enhancements - Raises the profile of the library in the eyes of the organization and community - Reasserts the status of the librarian as a key professional administering a state of the art facility with much to contribute to the parent organization Applications can be found on the AJL website, and all applications for accreditation or for renewal of accreditation are due Monday, March 3, 2025.
