*Stories of the Holocaust: Art for Healing and Renewal* is a two-volume
collection edited by *Karen Berman, PhD*, and *Gail Humphries, PhD*. The
books feature 33 chapters from an extraordinary international group of
authors, artists, and scholars, who use art as a powerful means of
combating hatred, bullying, and antisemitism.

*About the Editors of Stories of the Holocaust:*

*Karen Berman, PhD*, is Dean Emerita of the College of Fellows of the
American Theatre, former Chair of Theatre at GCSU, and Co-Artistic Director
of Washington Women in Theatre. She has directed over 150 productions,
including in the Czech Republic and Off-Broadway.

*Gail Humphries, PhD*, a Likhachev/Yeltsin Cultural Fellow, St. Petersburg,
Russia and Fulbright Senior Scholar at the Academy of Performing Arts in
Prague, Czech Republic, has directed more than 180 productions. She is Dean
Emerita of Stephens College and Professor Emerita at American University,
with a long history of advocacy for social justice through the arts.

Both editors are passionate advocates for the role of art in promoting
social change and preserving historical memory.

*About the Performative Book Preview:    *

The performative book preview, under the artistic direction of Dr. Gail
Humphries and directed by Laurie Mufson, will feature a unique blend of
music, readings, theatre, and dance performed by guest artists on March 25,
2025. The two-volume *Stories of the Holocaust* and this performative book
preview honor the memory of the valiant individuals, families, and children
who perished in the Holocaust, while celebrating the power of art to heal,
inspire, and promote renewal.

This is an evening you won't want to miss. We invite you to join us in
honoring the memory of the Holocaust and celebrating the resilience of the
human spirit through the transformative power of art.
