We opted not to choose books that are mainly about American Jews, or are set in Czarist Russia, or are primarily WWII stories (which can of course overlap with Soviet Jewish history, but we think WWII stories on their own are a separate category). The bibliography is an outgrowth of Leah's article "They Forgot to Tell Their Children": Where are the Jewish Children's Books about Soviet Jewry?" that appeared in the Summer 2024 issue of the Association of Jewish Libraries News and Review.
