the European Commission's next generation of collaborative
ecosystems for data sharing across and within domains.

The "European Memorialisation Data Space (EMDS) - Blueprint" project aims
to develop a comprehensive
Blueprint for the future Data Space dealing with data related to the
Holocaust. The new Data Space
will foster and leverage data sharing approaches and technologies for
Holocaust remembrance
and join the family of Data Space projects.

The project will be inspired by the Stolpersteine, or "stumbling stones,"
the largest decentralized
Holocaust memorial in Europe, envisioned to enhance them by a new virtual
layer of personal data,
documents and stories, associated with the commemorated victims.

This preparatory action focuses on engaging a diverse range of stakeholders
through an intense series
of events put together to collectively discuss, brainstorm, and design the
Blueprint for the new Data Space.

These community design workshops will bring together professionals from
ongoing Data Space projects,
organisations working in Holocaust research, education, and remembrance,
individual researchers,
activists, historians, technology experts, educators, and authorities to
ensure a holistic and inclusive approach.

The project will generate a series of reports capturing the insights and
recommendations from these
discussions. The reports will cover specific pillars of the future Data
Space—technology, governance,
sustainability, and use-cases.

Altogether, the project will deliver the Blueprint, a guiding framework for
European authorities, and national
and private bodies, to implement the Data Space project, complementing
other European initiatives and
infrastructures working with Holocaust materials (such as EHRI
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.ehri-project.eu/__;!!KGKeukY!zsiyPS3wvMDj41Llww8x6e4UrEBl_EUg9MhcZiom_MJ_s9lY6k5A9aqmGrLxBu3CgZq3yCXzHeqTZ8MX91efOyOSm1uSww$
 >).

The Blueprint will provide a clear and actionable plan, outlining the
steps, resources, and strategies to create
a digital space that enhances Holocaust remembrance through data sharing
and new technologies.
