Hannah, Congratulations! A beautiful website, wonderful illustrations and exvellent and interesting narrative. The photo of Rav A.I. Kook with the congregants, the story of how the Torah scrolls were brought in a procession to the new building, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth I, and prayers to be said for her in the British Empire, the work of the women of Shaar Shomayim, and the dedicated rabbinate and cantors and choir, were among the things that caught my attention. You have developed a moving and excellent story and the documents and photos are great! Thank you very much for sharing!
I hadnt known that Shaar Shomayim had been in three different locations ( de Bouillons [Constant], McGill College and Westmount, or that part of the synagogue's ritual heritage was donated to the Bagg Street Synagogue. I haven't watched the embedded videos yet which are sure to be very interesting, but will watch them as soon as I can. Thank you very much!
