Marcus Lehmann, an author with Feldheim, had a series of Jewish biographies in
a fictionalized form but true. Many are not in  publication anymore but some
are (R. Akiva). Check out Feldheim. He is very good. Don't forget about
Michener's The Source - may be a bit much for high school but I read it in High
School and learned a lot. There are also novels about Don Isaac Abarbanel and
his influence before and during the Spanish Inquision and expulsion.  There are
very few novels about biblical personalities that remain true to Jewish
tradition.

Hi everyone,

One of our 11th grade Bible teachers (Modern Orthodox day school) is looking
for a book to assign as long-term reading, maybe involving biblical
personalities.  I thought of Rabbi Steinsaltz’s book “Biblical Images” but I
don’t think that is what he has in mind…I was thinking about Rabbi Yosef
Deutsch’s books, but his seem to center around the holidays (except for the one
about Avraham). Any other ideas anyone has would be welcome!  Thank you!
